For the past week, I've seen the same three shoes on my way to work. They haven't moved at all. I would have expected one of them to get snatched up or thrown away by someone. I thought a passing car would push them off the road, or maybe a local dog might carry one away. But nope, every day, same shoes, same locations. They are spaced out far enough from each other that I don't think they are all from the same person.
I haven't gotten close enough to them to see whether they are all for the same foot, or even the same size. The first is a white sneaker; the second is a little bit dressier number (pictured below); and the third is a light blue flip-flop.
So far, I've only been able to snag a photo of one shoe, but all three were seen on my way to work in St. Louis, MO. The first one is on Gravois, near the intersection with Meramec. The second is at the stoplight for the intersection of Gravois and Chippewa. The third is on Chippewa, a couple of blocks from the intersection with Grand.
Do you think anyone's missing these shoes? If I lost a shoe, my first instinct would be to retrace my steps until I found it...but without the shoe I probably wouldn't get very far.
